ONLINE
& E-SAFETY
We pride ourselves on ensuring the online safety of our students is a top priority. We have implemented a comprehensive Online Safety Policy that outlines our commitment to safeguarding students in the digital environment. This policy is regularly reviewed and updated to address emerging online risks and to align with best practices. It encompasses guidelines for responsible internet use, protocols for reporting online concerns, and strategies for educating students about digital citizenship. By fostering a culture of awareness and responsibility, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the online world safely.
Our approach to online safety extends beyond policy implementation; it is integrated into our curriculum and daily school life. Students receive regular instruction on topics such as cyberbullying, data privacy, and appropriate online behavior. We utilize monitoring software to oversee digital activities on school devices, ensuring that any concerning behavior is promptly addressed. Additionally, we engage parents and guardians through workshops and resources, recognizing the vital role they play in reinforcing safe online practices at home. This collaborative effort between the school and families creates a supportive network that prioritizes student well-being in all digital interactions.
To further support our students, Northfleet School for Girls has established clear procedures for reporting and responding to online safety incidents. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is trained to handle such matters with sensitivity and confidentiality, ensuring that students feel secure in seeking help. We also provide access to external resources and support services for students who may require additional assistance. By maintaining open lines of communication and a proactive stance on digital safety, we strive to create an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally, free from online threats.
Students can use the online Worry Box to confidentially share any concerns they have in school, ensuring they feel heard and supported.
